On the 16th November 2008, BBCs Antiques Roadshow aired its first item valued at over £1m. The minature model of Anthony Gormleys Angel Of The North stands at a little over 6 feet tall and is owned by a coalminers son.
Philip Mould, valuing the item said "Its easier to value than a lot of things of this stature, of this iconic resonance, because another version did sell very recently. Admittedly it was taller and it wasnt of bronze and that made about £2m."
Since the show, there has been a surge of people attending car boot sales up and down the company in the hope of bagging the next £1m item.
